Hugh Farrelly Counselling and Psychotherapy
Working together to better your life.
Bring control and happiness back to your life.
I work with clients freeing them from thought processes and beliefs that may be keeping them trapped in a negative mindset. We can get bogged down in this way of thinking/feeling for many reasons. Commonly this may be a form of anxiety, depression or a life event such as the death of a loved one, a major illness or becoming a parent for the first time.
To address these situations, I offer time and space to explore what is making you feel this way, what is the best thing to focus on and how we can work together to get you moving where you want to be.
I work integratively, which means that I have a toolkit of approaches that we choose from, guided by where you believe the root of your problems lie.
I encourage feedback and collaboration on what works for you in sessions, what could be done better and when to switch to work on a different challenge.
All clients have their own unique challenges and their own individual set of internal resources. Through working together we can uncover these strengths and develop a problem solving/opportunity development strategy to lead to where you want to be.

Testimonials.
“ I felt that it was a big step going for counselling. As a guy we are taught not to talk about our feelings and just get on with it. I felt a tremendous amount of guilt and shame regarding my addiction to pornography and abuse of alcohol/drugs. Hugh helped me go into the feelings behind why I was doing these things and helped me to uncover awareness and direction to tackle these feelings and improve my life”

“ Since the death of my husband everyone I know wants to fix me and help me to be positive and move on. But I can’t. Working with Hugh enabled me to fully go into the events leading up to my husbands death, what I experienced and the traumatic pictures that keep popping into my head. I feel very comfortable talking to Hugh about my husband’s passing and feel that this process is helping to understand my grief.”

“ I have suffered with anxiety and depression my whole life. Working with Hugh allowed me to raise my awareness around my emotions and to take opportunities in my life that I had not noticed before. The process of counselling made me feel I was not alone or weird for acting and feeling the way I did”.
